Dr. Jones was born and raised in west Texas. He is a Permian High and University of Texas of the Permian Basin alumni. He graduated from UTPB honors program magna cum laude in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in biology. He then attended UT Health San Antonio Dental School, earned his DDS with distinction in research honors in 2016, and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He was accepted into residency in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UT Health San Antonio. He earned his MD in 2019 from the UT Health Long School of Medicine and completed his general surgery internship at UT Health San Antonio. Dr. Jones is board eligible from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is active in multiple local, regional, and national professional organizations. Dr. Jones has been heavily involved in research throughout his education and has numerous publications in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. These publications have been regionally and nationally awarded.
Jason P. Jones, DDS, MD
Dr. Jones’s clinical interests include dentoalveolar surgery, dental implantology and advanced bone grafting in the clinic setting. He also enjoys the correction of dentofacial deformities with orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint rehabilitation and reconstruction, and traumatic facial injury repair in the clinic and hospital settings.
Outside of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Jones loves spending time with his wife, Izbel, and three sons, Daniel, David, and Samuel. His family is expecting twins in March 2023. He is actively involved in church and enjoys watching sports and cheering for his favorite teams on game day. Dr. Jones is excited to be back in Midland/Odessa, Texas and being a part of the community where he grew up.
