Legacy

Dr. David Brown started this practice in 1982 with the premise that “what is best for the patient is what is best for the practice.” We continue to strive to meet that goal every day here at Permian Basin Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center.

Dr. Brown earned a Bachelor of Science from Lubbock Christian University and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Baylor College of Dentistry. He graduated as the valedictorian of both his college and dental school classes. He then entered the U.S. Navy for two years of active duty and served as a Lieutenant at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Brown then returned to Dallas where he completed a medical internship in anesthesiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and a residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Parkland Hospital.

In July of 1982, Dr. David Brown moved from Dallas to Odessa to begin his journey as the Permian Basin’s premier Oral Surgeon. He immediately began introducing himself to the individual dentists and dental community and ultimately created lasting partnerships in the scope of caring for their mutual patients. He instantly established a commitment to the community that continues today with compassion and quality patient care.

When Dr. Brown started this practice nearly 40 years ago, he had no idea how many lives he and the practice would impact. Starting with only himself and three employees, the practice has now grown to three doctors, twenty employees and two locations! That is, at present, twenty three families, not just individuals, that are now a part of, and serving this community.

As an oral surgeon, community leader, and employer he served and cared for the Permian Basin with strength, ambition, and compassion. Dr. Brown retired in December 2016 and we are proud to carry his legacy on here at Permian Basin Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center.
